Building Repairs

Repairs to buildings can generally be categorised into two categories.  These are superstructure (above ground) and substructure (underground) repairs.

Superstructure

In general, these works consist of crack repairs which are done using masonry reinforcement techniques such as “Helifix” or render repairs using expanded metal lathing together with rendering, plastering and decoration.  Datson Consulting can specify this work and engage specialist structural builders to undertake the work.

Substructure

This specialist work group together underpinning, piling and/or ground improvement techniques.  These are common if the ground cannot be stabilised by mitigation techniques such as repairing drains, removing trees or where mining remediation is not possible.  Datson Consulting are able to look at investigation information and provide a solution from a qualified chartered civil, structural and mining engineer.  We can also provide costing information and/or tendering procedures to quantify the project.
